What will the first session be like?
Your intake session begins with gaining an understanding of you and the struggles you’re seeking help . We’ll spend most of our first session gathering information so we may get to know you and meet you where you are.
Meeting you where you are in therapy means that we approach you with compassion and understanding, regardless of where you are in your healing or personal journey. This process centers on recognizing and respecting your unique experiences, emotions, and readiness for change.
During our first session, we’ll put together a plan for us to support your goals, acknowledging your current state, and tailoring the therapeutic process to meet your needs, pace, and comfort level.
Can you prescribe medications?
No, we do not have a psychiatrist on staff; but we often refer clients to medical providers who can prescribe medications.
How often and for how long will I need to come to therapy?
Therapy typically begins with weekly sessions and as symptoms improve the frequency may shift to every other week. As we meet each client where they are, our recommendations for session frequency are tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Healing isn’t a linear process. Our practice centers on recognizing and respecting your unique experiences, emotions, and readiness for change. The overall duration of treatment directly depends on individual circumstances and therefore it is challenging to provide an exact timeframe.
